You do not wear slippers out in public.
This is essentially snarky photojournalism. You deserve criticism and public notice for wearing slippers in public. They belong in your home. We’d accept wearing them down to the curb to get your mail, the morning paper or even the trash cans. But, you do not wear your slippers in public. Put on some shoes, some boots, or even some flip flops. But, leave the slippers at home.

I am an avid slipper wearer and wear slippers out in public daily. I love the pics you have on your site. I love that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But why do people have such a problem with what someone else has on. I understand that there is a line that you can’t cross, but I think it is a little farther than houseslippers. I have been told on numerous occasions that I should not be wearing my slippers out. But nobody has ever given me a legitimate reason why. I hope its not embaressment. Why would what someone else does who is of no relastionship or not even know, be an embarresment to you. If they are not embaressed, why should you. My wife hates it when i wear slippers out with her. She really does not let me do. Because she is my wife and I am with her at the time, I understand that.
I wish more people would wear their slippers out in public. I love to see people free and comfortable. I do draw the line with bathrobes though.
It’s quite an interesting topic. Actually, I’m sometimes thinking of trying to wear the indoor slippers in public but mostly like sandal-like, since once I found out that –
http://www.cottonage.com/Ugg-Style-House-Slippers-Brown.html is offering personalized products, especially the “UGG style” ones, you can try to upload your own logo, images to customized your own styles for the specail gifts. Why not give a try!
The ADVANTAGES of wearing slippers in public:
1. slippers are incredibly soft and comfy in comparison to shoes
2. slippers are very cheap, maybe a tenth or less of the price of conventional shoes
3. it follows that you can have many pairs of slippers for the price of one pair of shoes
4. slippers are available in all sorts of lovely fabrics, colours and patterns – wool, velvet, corduroy, canvas, tartan, etc, etc…
5. you can wear your slippers (at least the old fashioned or traditional styles) with pretty much everything, from smart to casual wear
6. you can (or should be able to) wear your slippers wherever you like; at home, outdoors, even at work or out socially if you so wish
7. slippers are environmentally friendly and animal-friendly, as opposed to leather-based footwear
8. slippers are equally suitable for men, women and children of all ages
9. when your slippers wear out – you can simply replace them with another pair!
The DISADVANTAGES of wearing slippers in public:
1. They really aren’t suitable for wearing in wet, rainy weather
CONCLUSION: wearing slippers in public: it’s a “no-brainer” (or should be!)
Public Slipper offenders are a passionate group – I’ll give you that.
“Slippers are environmentally friendly.” Probably my favorite in the list.
Ooooo! I missed one key advantage – slipper wearers don’t have to worry anymore about all that fussing around with tying up shoe laces… But I digress… “Public slipper offenders are a passionate group”, you say. Well that may or may not be. I don’t personally know of many other slipper wearers so I cannot comment on that. But what I would say is that none of us slipper wearers have gone through all the trouble of setting up this splendid website of yours. And filling it up with lots of slipper photos, most of which have been secretively obtained without the slipper wearer’s knowledge. Now my passion for slipper wearing might well be described as “eccentric”. However, your interest in the subject looks to be obsessive. Methinks you do protest too much! You are probably a secret slipper fetishist, albeit with hefty doses of self-loathing. How else to explain your obsession??? Perhaps your mother forced you to wear your big sister’s hand-me-down fluffy mules when you were a kid? God only knows, but whatever happened, you are clearly obsessed. My challenge to you is to “come out of the closet” on this one. Get out of the anonymity of your website and put your name on it! And above all else, throw away your shoes and invest in a collection of slippers. And get out there and wear them! You’ll feel a hell of a lot better for it!!! 😉
Ah, British humour.
