Prince?
This comment came in under the “About” section of the site. Rather than let it be hidden in the shadows of a comment box, I thought I’d share it with all of you loyal slipper followers. You have to admire this reader’s dedication to wearing slippers (PS – his username is “Houseslippers”).
“I am an avid slipper wearer and wear slippers out in public daily. I love the pics you have on your site. I love that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But why do people have such a problem with what someone else has on. I understand that there is a line that you can’t cross, but I think it is a little farther than houseslippers. I have been told on numerous occasions that I should not be wearing my slippers out. But nobody has ever given me a legitimate reason why. I hope its not embaressment. Why would what someone else does who is of no relastionship or not even know, be an embarresment to you. If they are not embaressed, why should you. My wife hates it when i wear slippers out with her. She really does not let me do. Because she is my wife and I am with her at the time, I understand that.
I wish more people would wear their slippers out in public. I love to see people free and comfortable. I do draw the line with bathrobes though.”
Dear Houseslippers (AWESOME username, BTW) – thank you for your dedication to the public slipper. It’s your comfort level in public that makes this site possible. So, why do we shudder at the idea of people wearing slippers in public? Well, I guess it’s just the way you feel about bathrobes : )
